The Belgian speed temple will host the third event of the International GT Open this weekend and the starting field of 27 registered crews promising strong competition will also include a BMW M6 GT3 of the Czech Šenkýř Motorsport team.
As already announced, the pair Joel Eriksson and Richard Gonda will take turns at the steering when in their first joint start.
“We still consider ourselves newcomers to the GT open series but there are certain expectations on our side nevertheless. Our M6 GT3 is completely updated to the newest specification 2018, we have a good crew and are well prepared. We will see, we have to advance step by step, to cover the needed kilometres in the free practice and to prepare the correct car setting. In addition, as usual, the weather can have its say in Spa, but if everything fits well together, we have a chance to fight for a good result,” were the words of the team manager, Mr. Robert Šenkýř, before setting off for Spa.
“The preparations for GT Open began long before the season even started. Now after the FIA CEZ at the Red Bull Ring they have culminated – by a complex set of operations from the car revision via the logistic preparation and accommodation booking to communication and joint planning with BMW Motorsport. This is a large project and in Spa our team will be extended to twenty people,” was Šenkýř´s answer to the question about the demanding preparation for one of the top events of the season.
You can follow the activities of the Šenkýř Motorsport team live on the official stream or on TV Digi Sport, with the Czech-speaking speaker Martin Straka.
